Lola Amour and KOKORO Steal Awit Awards Global Collab Crown
Lola Amour and Kokoro of Psychic Fever have taken the Best Global Collaboration Recording crown at the Awit Awards. The win came for “The Moment (with KOKORO),” and it made Kokoro the first Japanese artist to win the category.
The Awit Awards are among the most prestigious music honors in the Philippines. The win also lands during the 2026 Japan-Philippines Friendship Year, giving the cross-border hit a fitting backdrop.
Lola Amour and Kokoro Win Best Global Collaboration Recording at the Awit Awards
Released in July 2025, “The Moment (with KOKORO)” pairs Lola Amour’s mellow, moody sound with the soulful vocals of lead vocalist Pio Dumayas and Kokoro. The track draws on pop, funk, rock and jazz.
It captures the excitement and romantic anticipation of falling in love. The song highlights the musical chemistry between the artists as it blends their styles across borders.
Lola Amour is one of the Philippines’ prominent contemporary bands, known for its genre-bending sound. Its breakout hit “Raining in Manila” won the Special Award for Philippine Popular Music at the inaugural Music Awards Japan in 2025.
The band also earned Best World Music Recording for “Love on Loop” at the 39th Awit Awards. That win further established its presence in the Philippine music industry.
Lola Amour and Kokoro’s Japan-Philippines Partnership Keeps Growing
The partnership has grown well beyond the song’s release. In September 2025, Kokoro joined Lola Amour onstage at the band’s live show in Manila. The artists have since brought their music to audiences across the region, including in Macau.
Kokoro also made a surprise appearance at Lola Amour’s first performance in Japan in January 2026. The award adds another milestone to the growing musical exchange between Japan and the Philippines.
Kokoro called the award a great honor and a very happy occasion. “I believe music is a universal language that transcends words and national borders,” he said. He hopes the song keeps bringing people together and looks forward to sharing the stage with Lola Amour again.
Lola Amour said the band was honored to share the award with Kokoro and the rest of Psychic Fever. “It’s proof of what boundaries we can overcome when cultures come together,” the band said.
The band hopes the win inspires other artists in the region to make more music together. Meanwhile, Psychic Fever continues to expand its reach, performing for audiences across Asia, North America and Europe.
