Switch 2 Gamers Can Now Clip a Controller to Their Backpack
Nintendo Switch 2 players now have a controller small enough to hang from a keychain. CRKD has begun shipping its ATOM+ worldwide, and the pocket-sized pad can attach to a backpack or bag.
The collectible controller also works with Nintendo Switch, PC, mobile devices, tablets and Smart TVs, according to the company. It carries a suggested retail price of $29.99.
CRKD ATOM+ Keychain Controller: Features and TMR Thumbsticks
The ATOM+ is the follow-up to CRKD’s original ATOM controller. It packs twin thumbsticks, triggers, shoulder buttons and action buttons into a tiny frame. CRKD says the layout stays familiar for players on the go.
Both thumbsticks use TMR, or tunneling magnetoresistance, technology. CRKD says the magnetic sensor tech offers better performance, precision and power consumption than mechanical or Hall effect sticks. The company also says it ends stick drift.
The controller connects via Bluetooth and charges through USB-C. It also offers vibration feedback for compatible games, motion control and a turbo mode. Two four-way toggle buttons give quick access to system functions.
Players can remap buttons, adjust vibration and update firmware through the CRKD Companion App. Device settings can also be managed on the CRKD CTRL dashboard.

The ATOM+ is available now with an MSRP of $29.99. It is also listed at €34.99, £29.99 and A$54.99. Orders are open on CRKD’s website.
The controller comes in four colors: Smoke Black, Glacier Blue, Retro Purple and Pal Grey. A wrist strap is included. Players can use the strap during play or attach the controller to a backpack, bag or keychain.
Like other CRKD products, the ATOM+ works with the CRKD True Collection System. Owners register the controller in the app to reveal its unique product number and rarity rank. It then joins a personal digital collection of CRKD gear.
