Justin Brownlee wants return to Alab Pilipinas; team also interested
Barangay Ginebra import Justin Brownlee and San Miguel Alab Pilipinas have both expressed mutual interest in having another go-around in the on-going 2019-2020 ASEAN Basketball League season.
Brownlee just finished another stint with the Gin Kings, helping the franchise win a 4th title in 4 years.
The charismatic import suited up once for Alab in the ABL, and along with Renaldo Balkman, he helped the squad win a championship in 2018.
However, Alab didn’t sign Brownlee last year as they stuck with Balkman and PJ Ramos instead.
Brownlee said per an online report that he is open to a return to the club team as a replacement import, saying that staying in the country is “ideal” for him even if he has offers to play for other countries’ professional leagues.
Alab team owner Charlie Dy meanwhile, also said he is “interested” in getting Brownlee, per another online report.
Alab is currently in 3rd spot in the season with a 5-3 record, just behind Mono Vampire and the Fubon Braves.
It has been a shaky start for them so far, making 3 import changes already.
