Japanese R&B artist SIRUP has officially released the music video for his newest digital single “Not AI,” delivering a futuristic visual experience centered on emotion, individuality, and the struggle to remain human in an increasingly artificial world.

The groove-heavy track blends sleek production, smooth vocals, and dance-pop energy while carrying a message about emotional authenticity in the digital age. Rather than framing technology as the enemy, the song highlights the unique emotional instincts and personal “vibes” that cannot be replicated by artificial intelligence.

Known for merging contemporary R&B with stylish pop influences, SIRUP transforms a modern social theme into an accessible and energetic listening experience designed for replay value and emotional connection.

The single was developed through an international collaboration involving producers and songwriters ALYSA, A.G.O, Jacob Aaron, and JYONGRI. Together, the team crafted a vibrant sound built around infectious rhythms, layered grooves, and emotionally driven melodies.

Futuristic visual concept

The accompanying music video expands the song’s themes through a cinematic science-fiction setting directed by visual creator maxilla, who also designed the artwork for the single release.

Set aboard a futuristic spaceship filled with AI-controlled robots, the visual follows SIRUP as he navigates a repetitive and emotionally empty environment. As the story progresses, he gradually reconnects with emotion, instinct, and personal freedom while breaking away from the machine-like routine surrounding him.

The music video evolves from a personal emotional journey into a larger reflection on humanity itself. Through futuristic imagery and surreal visual sequences, the project explores what SIRUP describes as emotional impulses and human nuances that technology cannot artificially generate.

Instead of relying purely on dystopian themes, the visual maintains an uplifting tone focused on rediscovering identity and emotional expression. The result is a polished music video that complements the song’s dance energy while reinforcing its deeper message about individuality.

SIRUP’s signature vocal style also remains central throughout the project, balancing smooth delivery with emotionally resonant hooks that strengthen the track’s modern pop appeal.

Vinyl release announced

Alongside the music video launch, SIRUP also confirmed the upcoming vinyl edition release of his third album “OWARI DIARY,” scheduled for June 13.

The special edition vinyl package will arrive as a limited splatter-color 1LP featuring a gatefold jacket design and an exclusive A2-sized poster for collectors and longtime fans.

The announcement adds another major release milestone for SIRUP as he continues expanding his creative identity through both music and visual storytelling. His ability to combine stylish production with socially relevant themes has helped establish him as one of Japan’s most recognizable modern R&B voices.

With “Not AI,” SIRUP delivers a project that embraces futuristic aesthetics while emphasizing the emotional qualities that continue to separate human creativity from artificial systems.
