COVID-19: Music festival Coachella postponed amid outbreak fears
Coachella, one of the biggest music festivals in the world, has been postponed amid coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak fears.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, originally scheduled for two weekends in April (10 to 12 and 17-19) in Southern California, will now be moved to October 9 to 11 and 16 to 18.
The original line-up featured Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, and Rage Against the Machine. Organizers did not give any hint on how the line-up would look like in October.
Riverside County has jurisdiction over the Coachella Valley, and its public health officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser served the order to have the event cancelled.
Stagecoach, a country music festival also organized by Goldenvoice, will likewise be postponed and moved to October.
As of March 11, there are over 1,000 corona virus cases in the United States.
