PBA: Ageless James Yap preparing for Rain or Shine’s running game
Two-time PBA MVP James Yap says he is preparing his body for Rain or Shine’s expected running game for the 2020 PBA Season.
A veteran in the league for 15 years, Yap said it would be crucial to take care of his 37-year-old body especially that he’s not getting any younger anymore.
“Team namin ngayon mukang mabibilis, nakuha namin mostly wings. I’m sure tatakbo kami, excited ako kailangan ko makasabay sa takbuhan nila kailangan kundisyon,” said Yap per an online report.
Of course, Yap is joined by younger players under the Elasto Painters’ fold like Rey Nambatac and Jayvee Mocon. Recently, the team also drafted Clint Doliguez and Adrian Wong, injecting even more youth to the squad.
But Yap, who has always put a premium on his conditioning, is confident he can keep up with the times and be a leader on the floor as well.
“So far so good, okay pa naman. Nag-wuwork out after practice kailangan punta sa gym, kailangan i-work out yung mga weak na body parts ko kasi lagi ako naiinjury sa lower part ng body ko eh, groin ko, yung hamstring, yun yung pinapalakas ko lagi,” he said.
