Les Mills Asia Pacific launches Smartstep to transform studio experience
Les Mills Asia Pacific has launched the redesigned LES MILLS SMARTSTEP, the first significant upgrade to the iconic step in more than a decade. The new model pairs integrated risers and click-to-rise technology with a slimmer, lighter build to help clubs set up faster, save storage space and deliver smoother workouts.
Smartstep reengineered for studio performance
The all-in-one SMARTSTEP offers three height settings (150mm, 200mm, 250mm) via integrated risers that click up or down without extra parts. Engineers, physiotherapists and sports professionals calibrated platform flex to boost muscle activation while reducing joint impact. The result: improved propulsive power and a more comfortable workout experience.
Clubs save space, boost durability and cut waste
The redesign cuts footprint and storage needs — a slim, stackable profile saves about 31% more space than the previous generation. High-performance materials yield a 140 kg load rating and a three-year warranty, while the build uses 10% recycled plastic and 15% less plastic overall. Optional single- and double-sided wheeled storage racks make movement and organisation effortless.
Availability and benefits
Clubs can expect quicker studio turnover, more class capacity and longer equipment life. The SMARTSTEP’s lighter, more portable form also makes it suitable for gym-floor use outside the studio. The new LES MILLS SMARTSTEP will be available to order from Sept. 18, 2025.
