Now, Pelicans fans can breathe a sigh of relief. the team is still in the running for the playoffs, just 3.5 games outside of the 8th seed in the Western Conference.
The 9th-placed team in a conference can force a play-in round if they are within just 4 games behind of the 8th-placed squad.
The Pelicans are currently 10th behind the Portland Trail Blazers and Memphis Grizzlies.
