NBC Orders More Episodes for ‘Blindspot’ as New Series Impresses In Ratings
“Blindspot” isn’t going away anytime soon. Fueled by an impressive premiere last week, the freshman series just received more episode orders from NBC.
According to TV Line, while the show hasn’t received a full season pick-up just yet, the network has asked for additional back nine episode orders for the series.
Against its competition, “Blindspot” received 10.6 million total viewers and a 3.1 rating in the demo when it debuted last Monday. Succeeding viewings via DVR further boosted its ratings, and thus it became the highest rated telecast since last March’s “Empire” broadcast, according to Variety.
“Blindspot” stars Jamie Alexander as Jane Doe, who wakes up in a bag not knowing who she is, how she got there and why she had tattoos all over her body. FBI took her own and realized she could be an asset as her tattoos reveal cases they have yet to solve. But the biggest mystery of it all is that there’s a large tattoo of FBI Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) on her back.
“It’s exciting to discover what all of their stories are. You don’t know how they’re connected. It’s an exciting way to go. We’re filming the seventh episode now, and I just can’t wait to get the scripts and find out where we are going to end up,” said Stapleton, via The Hollywood Reporter.
The show will air its second episode tonight on NBC. Have you been watching “Blindspot?”
