GAC Philippines Drops New Hybrid SUV for Growing Families
Filipino families now have a roomier, more efficient option. GAC Philippines has rolled out the GS4 MAX HEV, a hybrid SUV built for space and safety. It joins the EMKOO, GS3 EMZOOM, and GS8 in GAC’s SUV lineup.
“We are thrilled to offer modern Filipino families a high-value hybrid SUV,” said Calvin Cheng, General Manager of GAC Philippines. Reservations are open at dealerships nationwide.

A Hybrid Powertrain Built for Long-Distance Efficiency
The GS4 MAX HEV runs on a 2.0L Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine with a 2-speed transmission and a 2.1 kWh battery. It shifts between Electric, Hybrid, Direct Engine, and Recuperation modes.
Combined output reaches 232 HP (173 kW), with a maximum torque of 300 N·m. GAC tuned the system to stretch fuel efficiency without losing power.
That translates to a driving range of up to 1,250 kilometers on a single tank. Owners get electric vehicle-like responsiveness with the reassurance of long-distance range.
The move mirrors a wider trend in the Philippine auto market. More manufacturers are turning to hybrids as a bridge before full electrification, cutting fuel costs without range anxiety.
Spacious Cabin Designed Around Family Life
Space anchors the GS4 MAX HEV’s family appeal. It rides on a 2,750 mm wheelbase and a 1,901 mm wide body, giving both rows generous legroom and shoulder room.
The cabin follows a Minimalist Black theme, topped by a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade. Natural light fills the interior on longer drives.
Seats use zero-pressure cushions with precision piping and extensive perforation for comfort. GAC also added acoustic insulation, rear air vents, and smart storage throughout.
When families need more room, the second-row seats fold completely flat. This opens up an unobstructed load floor for strollers, sports gear, or luggage.
On safety, the SUV uses a safety-cage body with high-strength steel in key areas. It’s backed by dual front, front side, and second-row side airbags.
A full Level 2 Driver Assistance Suite rounds things out. It includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Lane Keep Assist.
Tech features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 50W wireless charger with built-in cooling keeps phones powered on the go.
Buyers who reserve before September 30, 2026, can get the GS4 MAX HEV at PHP 1,218,000, down from its SRP of PHP 1,298,000. It comes in three colorways: Planet Silver, Hoary Grey, and Crystal White.
GAC backs the model with a 5-year or 150,000-km basic warranty. An 8-year or 150,000-km policy also covers the power battery, driving motor, and motor control unit.
The brand’s hybrid know-how comes from two decades of collaboration with Toyota and Honda. That partnership continues to strengthen GAC’s footprint in the Philippine market.
As GAC expands its dealer network and lineup, the GS4 MAX HEV adds to its momentum. It gives Filipino families another hybrid SUV to consider for their next purchase.
