Gilas Pilipinas: Kai Sotto might miss 3rd window based on NBA G-League schedule
Filipino teenage star Kai Sotto might miss playing for Gilas Pilipinas in February 2021, the tentative NBA G-League season schedule implies.
As pointed out on Twitter, Sotto might have to stick to his G-League duties for Team Ignite based on the schedule wherein the tournament starts on February next year.
Per source, the tentative G League schedule:
Jan. 29: Training camp opens at bubble site.
Feb. 8: Season starts
March 5: Playoffs start
*the hope is that the bubble site is Atlanta but that’s not set.

That being said, G-League games will coincide with Gilas’ hosting of the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers 3rd window which happens in the same month from the 18th through the 22nd.
The Philippines will be hosting games in Clark, Pampanga.
Sotto earlier announced that he is fully committed to play for Gilas in the future although he did not specify when.
The 7-2 center is trying to become the 1st local-born Filipino to make it to the NBA and the G-League appearance is a crucial part of the process.
His Team Ignite already played a couple of scrimmages against G-League veterans.
