NBA: Mitchell, Murray make history as Utah take 3-1 lead over Denver [VIDEO]
Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell erupted for 51 points as the Utah Jazz beat the Denver Nuggets, 129-127 in a pulsating Game 4 to take a 3-1 lead in their Western Conference first round playoff series.
Mitchell eclipsed Jamal Murray’ 50-point mark in the process as he carried his team to a commanding 3-1 series lead.
It was the second time Mitchell scored more than 50 points in the series. He exploded for 57 in the series opener, the lone game the Nuggets have won.
Mike Conley provided 26 points in his 2nd game back. His team remains perfect in the playoffs with him playing.
Jordan Clarkson added 24 points on 9/13 shooting off the bench.
Murray for his part has 11 rebounds and 7 assists as well. He hit 9 triples.
Mitchell and Murray became the first opponents to each score 50 in a playoff game.
Utah led by as much as 11 in the 3rd quarter where they outscored Denver, 33-24. Denver rallied back but fell short in the end as Mitchell hit crucial free throws.
