NBA: Suns’ Booker sets record in win as Doncic, Porzingis combine for 70 [VIDEO]
A combined 70-point night from Dallas Mavericks stars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis wasn’t enough as the Phoenix Suns escaped with a 117-115 victory on Sunday in the NBA bubble in Orlando.
Devin Booker led the Suns with 30 points, while Cameron Johnson added 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Booker made history by getting another 30-point night, eclipsing Amare Stoudemire’s franchise record of 86 times.
Booker’s performance Sunday was the shooting guard’s 87th career 30-point game for Phoenix.
Free throws by Ricky Rubio pushed Phoenix up, 117-113 with only a minute remaining.
Doncic then made a lay-up to cut the deficit, before Rubio missed a floater, setting up a chance for Dallas.
But Porzingis missed a triple with 4.5 seconds left, allowing Phoenix to escape with the win.
Doncic had 40 points, 8 rebounds, and 11 assists, while his fellow European star Porzingis added 30 points and 8 boards.
Rubio had an all-around game of 20 points, 9 boards, and 7 dimes.
