NBA: Magic’s Jonathan Isaac out of season after torn ACL
Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac will be out of the season after a confirmed ACL tear Sunday.
Isaac went down in Orlando’s eventual 132-116 victory over the Sacramento Kings. He played only 15 minutes and scored 4 points.
Isaac was having a breakout season prior to left knee injury on Jan. 1 — a legitimate all-NBA defensive team candidate. He elevates a tough-minded and reslient Magic team. August timing and rehab length threatens his return for 2020-'21 season. Just brutal for him and franchise. https://t.co/1T6aZCZeRG

MRI results confirmed an ACL tear for the 6-11 frontcourt stalwart.
Isaac played only 33 games this season after a prior knee injury also forced him out. He averaged 12.1 PPG, 6.9 RPG, and 2.4 BPG.
As noted by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Isaac could have been a solid candidate for one of the all-defensive teams.
