Philander Rodman, the father of former Chicago Bulls champion Dennis Rodman, passed away on Thursday in Pampanga, Philippines. He was 79.
Philander had been living in the Philippines since the 1970s and never met Dennis until 2012 during an all-star legends showcase in Manila.

Dennis finally recognized Philander as his father after decades of going on the record to say he didn’t have a father.
Philander was known for having 29 children with 16 women but tried his best to get back on his feet by establishing a small burger joint.
His grandchildren are now appealing to Dennis for help for his burial and other related expenses.
