NBA trade: Dion Waiters, Jae Crowder part of Heat-Grizzlies Iguodala deal

Dion Waiters and Jae Crowder are among the players included in the Miami Heat-Memphis Grizzlies deal involving Andre Iguodala.

As reported 1st by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowksi, it turns out the Heat and Grizzlies have swapped 3 players each in the transaction.

Miami will get Iguodala, Crowder, and Solomon Hill in the deal, while the Grizzlies will get Justise Winslow, James Johnson, and Dion Waiters.

Crowder and Hill are on expiring deals, giving the Heat some flexibility with their cap for the following season.

But for the meantime, they, along with Iguodala, will fortify the Heat roster depth.

The deal ends Waiters’ 4-year tenure with the Heat. The shooting guard only played 3 games this year after off-court issues. He averaged 9.3 PPG.

It remains to be seen if Waiters will be able to thrive with a young core that includes Jaren Jackson, Ja Morant, and Dillon Brooks.

Meanwhile, talks of the Heat getting Danilo Gallinari from the OKC Thunder seems to have stalled as well.
