Tenorio: PBA Philippine Cup is 3 times harder to win

Barangay Ginebra veteran point guard LA Tenorio said winning a PBA Philippine Cup title is much more difficult than winning any of the two other conference titles.

Determined to win an all-Filipino crown for the 1st time in his lengthy career, Tenorio admitted it will take a lot more effort to clinch the most prestigious crown.

“I’m really determined to win the All-Filipino. Kung mana-naturalize lang namin si Justin (Brownlee), nakuha na namin ang All-Filipino. Ganoon ko kagusto makuha ang all-Filipino,” said Tenorio per an online report, even joking about getting Ginebra import Brownlee as a local.

Though a 5-time champion, surprisingly, Tenorio has never won a Philippine Cup.

He won 4 titles with Ginebra, 3 in the Governors’ Cup and another one in the Commissioners’ Cup.

He also won a Fiesta Conference crown with Alaska last decade.

Tenorio went on to say that they will undergo perhaps even triple of what they experienced in the 2019 Governors’ Cup.

“Iba kasi iyung all-Filipino. Alam naman natin yun. But it’s not easy; kung mahirap itong pinagdaanan namin sa Governors’ Cup, siguro mas triple pagdadaanan namin to get that championship,” said Tenorio.
