Congressman Ronaldo B. Zamora Cup Tatlohan Non-Master Chess tilt on

EVERYTHING is set for the staging of Congressman Ronaldo B. Zamora Cup Tatlohan Non-Master Chess Tournament (1950 below ratings based on January 1, 2019) today, Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the Barangay Salapan covered court, San Juan City.

“We do this to promote chess in the grass roots level and discover future chess talents,” said Barangay Salapan chairman Charles “Ayie” Tejoso.

“The Tournament is a seven round Swiss System with 20 minutes using match point system with 5 seconds delay per player to finish the game.” added Tournament Director/Manager Raynald C. Redondo.

According to secretary Kheil Louie Ilagan, prizes at stake in the National Chess Federation of the Philippines sanctioned tournament is P20,000 plus trophy for the team champion in the one-day event supervised by the Chess Arbiter Union of the Philippines led by Chief Arbiter FNA Alexander “Alex” Dinoy and assisted by FNA Alfredo Chay, FNA Reden Cruz and CNA Miel Bautista.

The second to sixth placers are set to pocket their respective cash prizes worth P15,000, P10,000, P6,000, P4,000, and P3,000 respectively.

Special prizes for the top team performer in the top 1920 and below, top College team, top High school team, top Lady team with P1,000 each while individual gold medal winner for board one, two and three will also likewise to receive P500 each.

Digital Wire Media, Barangay 592 chess led by Genghis Katipunan Imperial, Patrick Paul Plaza and Chairman Rhodel Rubio is the team to watch.
