“Riverdale” season 2 episode 6 titled “Death Proof” kicked off with Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) rushing to the hotel room of the St. Clairs. Picking up from the episode 5 ending (“When a Stranger Calls”), Betty dropped the name of Nick St. Clair (Graham Phillips) as the next victim of the Black Hood.
As most will recall, Nick tried to rape Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) after sneaking in some “Jingle Jangle” on her drink. Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) and the Pussycats were able to come in the nick of time and give the brash St. Clair teenager a beating.
Nick remains breathing and it looks like things will stay that way. That is unless Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) tries something to get back at the St. Clairs.
While most were still trying to figure out who the masked assailant was, the whole drug issue has gotten attention. The parents of the teens present when Nick offered the drug were not happy and most ended up doing community service for their mischief.
Reggie Mantle (Charles Melton) revealed where he was getting it from – the Southside Serpents. Mayor Sierra McCoy vowed to wage war against the Southerners, further compounding the growing chaos in Riverdale.
Speaking of Reggie, the CW_Riverdale Twitter account posted a curious tweet involving Reggie and Jose McCoy (Ashleigh Murray). Both were performing community service though something may be developing between them.

While both seemed to detest each other, anything can happen in the show. Further, hate may be only at the start of anything with sparks sinking in.
If Reggie and Josie do end up flirting or being a couple, it should be interesting. Seeing how the character of Reggie Mantle hardly got exposure in the first season, he may finally get his due this time around.
With most wondering who the Black Hood is, this possible Reggie – Josie romance is a subplot for the series if ever develops. On how long it could last is anyone’s guess considering Mantle’s persona and the fact that he never had anyone steady in the comic books.
“Riverdale” season 2 returns on Nov. 29 with chapter 20 titled “Tales from the Dark Side” on the CW. Check out the trailer below.
