WATCH: ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales’ First Trailer

Disney has released the very first teaser to “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”  The fifth installment to the franchise is focused on the Captain Salazar, who is played by Javier Bardem, and he’s this particular story’s big bad. Salazar is responsible for the deaths of many pirates at sea as he enlists a ghost army to eliminate them.

Johnny Depp returns to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” Also making a comeback is Orlando Bloom, who has played Will Turner since the beginning of the franchise. Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Kevin McNally as Gibbs and Stephen Graham as Scrum are also part of the cast. New comers Kaya Scodelario and Golshifteh Farahani complete this installment’s ensemble.

In the teaser, Captain Salazar is seemingly on the hunt for Jack Sparrow. “Find Sparrow for me and relay a message from Capitan Salazar, and tell him… death will come straight for him,” a man is heard in the teaser telling another pirate.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” started production in Australia in 2015, with a scheduled release date in theaters on May 26, 2017. It’s still unclear whether this offering will be the last of the franchise. Apparently, Depp has expressed this will be the last time he’s assuming the iconic role.
