The show, which formerly starred KaDee Strickland and was shot for pilot season this year, will now lead with Katherine Heigl. Joining the former “Grey’s Anatomy” star is Steven Pasquale, who was last seen on “The Good Wife.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Pasquale will join as the client, Billy, a surgeon accused of murder 15 years ago. Heigl’s character, a defense lawyer named Sadie, takes on his case. However,  the two become romantically involved.

The show was slated to be presented during last May’s upfronts, but CBS has decided to shelve the series, only to revive this with a different cast and script, according to Variety.

Also part of the cast are Dule Hill, Dreama Walker, Elliott Gould and Laverne Cox of the “Orange is the New Black” fame. She will also play a lawyer with an Ivy League background.

The retooled series will be written by Tony Phelan and Joan Rater who has worked with Heigl on “Grey’s Anatomy” in the past.  Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly and Adam Bernstein will produce the series.

This will be Heigl’s second attempt at returning to network TV after her stint on Grey’s Anatomy. The actress recently starred in the  limited series “State of Affairs,” which lase season 2014 on NBC.
