Philippine Innovation Goes Global at LEAP East Hong Kong
Six homegrown Filipino innovations just landed in front of the world’s investors. The Philippines is signaling it’s ready to compete on the global tech stage.
The Philippine delegation showcased the startups before investors, technology leaders, multinational companies, and research institutions. The showcase highlighted the country’s growing capability in healthcare, education, sustainability, workforce innovation, and digital transformation.
The event was the inaugural LEAP East Hong Kong 2026. It was supported by the Department of Science and Technology-Technology Application and Promotion Institute’s (DOST-TAPI) SPICE Program.
Through the mission, the delegation generated new international business leads. They also secured strategic connections with potential partners and investors, along with valuable market insights.
Six Startups Take the Global Stage
Representing the Philippines were DOST-TAPI-assisted startups KoolGear, PasaJob, Pic-A-Talk, CirPro Innovations, and Fullmight Corp. I-COUNT, recipient of the DOST-TAPI NICE 2026 Sibol Award for Outstanding, joined them.
Through business matching, networking sessions, and technology exhibits, the delegation engaged a diverse crowd. Startups, investors, multinational companies, government agencies, and research institutions were all in the mix.
The delegation promoted Philippine-developed technologies throughout the event. They highlighted local solutions built to address real-world challenges across industries.
The mission also explored potential collaborations and market opportunities. Pathways for expanding Filipino innovations into regional and global markets were a key focus.
The participation reinforced DOST-TAPI’s commitment to internationalizing Filipino innovations. The SPICE Program continues creating openings for promotion, market validation, and future commercialization.

Philippine Consul General to Hong Kong Romulo Victor Israel Jr. underscored the value of these platforms. He called them key to strengthening the country’s innovation ecosystem.
“This is a platform where we can interact with international companies and explore opportunities for our country to develop the innovation industry in the Philippines and to invite more investors to come to the Philippines,” the Consul General said.
He added that platforms like LEAP East Hong Kong 2026 help startups move from incubation to commercialization. Access to global networks and collaborators plays a critical role in that shift.
