SpeakClinic expands autism teletherapy access in the Philippines with DOST-PCHRD support
SpeakClinic is expanding its autism teletherapy services in the Philippines after receiving support from the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Council for Health Research and Development through its Startup Research Grant Program. The funding is aimed at strengthening the platform’s digital healthcare capabilities and widening access to developmental support for children with autism.
The grant provides a one-year research and development roadmap focused on improving how families connect with licensed clinicians. It includes the creation of an integrated appointment and reservation system and the introduction of machine learning features designed to support more efficient pediatric intervention and evidence-based care delivery.

SpeakClinic operates as a digital platform that connects families with licensed clinicians for scheduling and online consultations. It works in tandem with Mylo Speech Buddy, a speech therapy support application designed to assist both clinical sessions and daily language development exercises. The platform was developed to address long-standing gaps in access to developmental therapy across the Philippines, particularly for families facing geographic and financial barriers.
Expanding access to autism therapy across underserved communities
Access to autism and speech therapy remains a challenge for many Filipino families due to the limited number of specialists and uneven distribution of services outside major cities. SpeakClinic is designed to address this gap by offering both a verified clinician directory and a direct booking system for teletherapy sessions.
By centralizing access to professionals and services, the platform reduces delays in intervention and helps families secure timely support. This is particularly important in developmental care, where early and consistent therapy can significantly impact long-term outcomes.
The initiative also aligns with global observances such as World Autism Awareness Month, which emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis, intervention, and inclusive support systems. During April, supporting platforms under the same ecosystem have also expanded access initiatives, including temporary free access programs for users seeking developmental resources.
Government-backed support strengthens digital healthcare innovation
DOST-PCHRD’s support is expected to accelerate SpeakClinic’s development into a more integrated digital healthcare system that combines clinical practice, data-driven tools, and collaborative care between families and professionals. The goal is to enhance both accessibility and the quality of therapy delivery through technology.
This backing also ensures that the platform’s development remains aligned with validated healthcare standards while supporting scalability across different regions. It reflects a broader push toward digital transformation in public health services in the Philippines.
Vincent Rocha, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mylo Incorporated, described the partnership as a major step forward for the platform’s evolution. He said the grant validates the mission of making therapy more accessible while ensuring clinical credibility through research-backed development.
Beyond its core services, Mylo Speech Buddy continues to promote autism awareness through its “Ausome Stories” digital series, which has reached millions of viewers since its launch. The storytelling initiative features families, therapists, and medical professionals discussing lived experiences and the importance of long-term developmental support.
The latest season, launched on April 14, 2026 and hosted by Tuesday Vargas, highlights real-life family journeys alongside expert insights on therapy and intervention. It reinforces the importance of sustained care and early support systems across all stages of development.
Families looking for autism therapy support can access SpeakClinic through its official website, where they can connect with licensed professionals for consultations and teletherapy services.
