GSIS engages stakeholders in Tagum to streamline services and digital access

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) met with members, pensioners and local government partners in Tagum, Davao del Norte, as part of its effort to improve service delivery. The dialogue aimed to identify concerns on transactions, communication and accessibility, particularly at the local level.

GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso said the visit was designed to gather direct and unfiltered feedback from stakeholders. He stressed that meaningful improvements depend on listening carefully to members’ actual experiences.

Veloso said GSIS is focusing on making processes simpler and more responsive across all service channels. He added that feedback gathered during the dialogue would be translated into concrete service improvements.

Strengthening digital services and protection of assets

Veloso highlighted the agency’s continued investment in digital systems, including upgrades to the GSIS Touch mobile app. He noted that GSIS operations are now 99.6 percent digitalized, but improvements remain ongoing to enhance usability.

He also underscored GSIS’ mandate to protect government assets to ensure continuity of public services during disasters and emergencies. According to Veloso, safeguarding public property helps local governments maintain operations even during crises.

Housing support and community initiatives

GSIS also discussed its housing support programs for government employees, citing available properties in Davao del Sur and Davao del Norte. Veloso said qualified buyers are no longer required to make a down payment, making housing more accessible.

As part of the visit, GSIS turned over a 400,000-peso technology package to Sambolungan Elementary School in Davao del Norte and Manasa Elementary School in Davao de Oro. The donation was made under the agency’s Adopt-a-School Program to support digital learning.

Local education officials recognized GSIS for its contribution to schools, while several local government units honored the agency for promoting stability in governance. Veloso capped the visit with a press conference, addressing questions from Tagum-based media on GSIS priorities.
