Formula 1 and Allwyn have awarded Stichting HandicapNL the very first F1 Allwyn Global Community Award, alongside a €100,000 donation to expand accessibility initiatives across the Netherlands. The award was presented during the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix 2025 at Zandvoort, where HandicapNL was recognized for breaking barriers and improving inclusivity at live events.

The foundation’s efforts ensure that people with disabilities can fully experience festivals and sporting events, from specialized information and guidance to accessible facilities. With more than two million people in the Netherlands living with disabilities, Stichting HandicapNL continues to play a vital role in creating an inclusive society.

Recognizing community impact in Formula 1

The new award honors outstanding community projects connected to Formula 1 races worldwide. HandicapNL stood out to the judges for its influence both in motorsport and the wider Dutch community, demonstrating how accessibility efforts at the Zandvoort circuit can inspire broader change.

Thanks to the €100,000 donation from Allwyn, the foundation plans to make four additional events fully accessible, provide expert support for six others, and strengthen collaborations with like-minded organizations. This expansion is expected to leave a lasting impact, empowering more people to attend events without barriers.

Formula 1 and Allwyn’s global commitment

The F1 Allwyn Global Community Award is part of a multi-year partnership that highlights positive social change in host countries. Four initiatives will be recognized during the 2025 season, with winners announced at the Dutch Grand Prix, the USA Grand Prix in Austin, the Mexico City Grand Prix, and the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Each recipient will receive €100,000 and be honored at their home race.

For Stichting HandicapNL, this recognition is more than an award — it’s momentum to expand their mission. By making events accessible for everyone, they are helping redefine what inclusivity in sport and entertainment can look like worldwide.
