Paco Park Presents marks Buwan ng Wika with Musika ng Luwalhati’t Pagsinta
In celebration of Buwan ng Wika and Buwan ng Kasaysayan, the National Parks Development Committee (NPDC) and the Department of Tourism will continue the acclaimed concert series Paco Park Presents with a program titled ‘Musika ng Luwalhati’t Pagsinta,’ featuring the Silangan Chamber Guitar Ensemble (SCGE). The one-hour all-guitar concert is scheduled for 29 August 2025 at 6:00 PM at Paco Park, Manila. Admission is free and open to the public.
The performance highlights the beauty and depth of Filipino musical expression, weaving together nostalgic folk melodies, lyrical serenades, and stirring nationalistic themes. Each piece invites audiences into a soundscape of devotion, longing, and joy, while celebrating the enduring pride of being Filipino.

Silangan Chamber Guitar Ensemble carries on a legacy
The Silangan Chamber Guitar Ensemble is composed of accomplished musicians who are faculty and alumni from prestigious institutions such as the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, St. Paul University Manila, and Centro Escolar University. Founded under the artistic direction of the late Professor Ruben Reyes, a pioneer in Philippine guitar pedagogy, SCGE remains committed to showcasing the guitar as a profound voice in both classical and Filipino music.
“Silangan,” meaning “East,” reflects the ensemble’s deep connection to Philippine and Asian heritage. Their repertoire spans Western classical works to treasured Filipino compositions, combining refined artistry with heartfelt expression. By exploring varied scales and tonal ranges, the group delivers a symphonic depth that elevates the guitar beyond its traditional role.
A celebration of language, love, and legacy
Musika ng Luwalhati’t Pagsinta is more than a concert—it is a tribute to Filipino identity and cultural heritage. The program honors the power of language, the poetry of music, and the stories that continue to shape the nation’s collective spirit.
The NPDC and DOT invite the public to join the event on 29 August 2025 at 6:00 PM at Paco Park, Manila. With free admission, the concert offers a meaningful evening of music that celebrates Buwan ng Wika and the richness of Philippine culture.
