Clear River Games and Neos Corporation just launched “Culdcept BEGINS” as a physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition, shipping worldwide. It marks the series’ first full console physical release since the franchise’s early days.

The release caps a legacy stretching back to 1997. For a cult favorite built on loyal fans rather than mainstream buzz, this comeback is a genuine milestone.

Culdcept BEGINS Physical Edition Packs Serious Fan-Service

Two versions are available through the Clear River Games online store. The Standard Edition costs $54.99, while the Steelbook Edition runs $89.99 for collectors who want more.

The Standard Edition includes a reversible cover and a 32-page booklet. It covers the story, characters, and beginner strategy tips for new players.

The Steelbook Edition adds a hard metal case and a themed slip-lid box. It also includes ten creature art cards and a physical soundtrack CD.

A Franchise Built On 25 Years Of Card-and-Board Strategy

“Culdcept BEGINS” is the first major new entry in about a decade, and it’s already proving the wait was worth it. The game has topped 100,000 units sold across digital and physical formats.

That momentum builds on a legacy dating back to 1997, when Omiya Soft created the original Culdcept. The series blends dice-driven board play with deep card strategy.

The new entry features more than 400 cards split across creature, item, and spell types. Players build custom decks and battle for territory on the board.

Fans can test their decks in Versus Mode against AI opponents before taking the fight online. Online Mode then lets them battle real players worldwide.

Whether it’s the Steelbook flex or pure nostalgia driving the hype, “Culdcept BEGINS” is riding 25 years of goodwill. That pedigree is exactly what strategy fans have been waiting for.
