Japanese star Riho Sayashi is pulling double duty on her latest major live-action television project. She leads the upcoming drama “How Do We Relationship?” while personally penning its haunting ending theme song.
The new series adapts Tamifull’s hit manga, which has sold over one million copies and racked up 100 million views online. The show’s announcement made waves globally, with its first teaser trending on X within hours.
Sayashi Explores Vulnerability with “Koufuku Shikkaku”
Sayashi wrote “Koufuku Shikkaku,” an emotionally intense track about falling in love after convincing oneself that happiness was out of reach. The song serves as the ending theme, accompanying the show’s darker second teaser trailer.
The lyrics follow a narrator whose controlled, quiet loneliness gets disrupted by genuine love. Knowing this affection could drag her back into emotional “hell,” she still chooses a painful love over total isolation.
Writing the words that close out a story creates a unique challenge for an actor. Sayashi’s vulnerable songwriting directly mirrors the complex internal emotional journey of her on-screen character.
New EP Launch Precedes Global Streaming Release
The ending track appears on Sayashi’s upcoming EP titled “OWN,” which drops on September 2. Lead single “I AM” has already been streaming since August 19 ahead of the full record release.
The EP arrives as both a standard mini-album and a limited-edition version featuring a Blu-ray disc. Both physical formats pack a photobook, stickers, and exclusive retailer bonuses while stocks last.
