Philippines COVID-19 cases rise to 10 in just a week
The number of patients in the Philippines confirmed to have been affected by the nobel coronavirus (COVID-19) rose to 10 in just one week, making more Filipinos alarmed about the disease outbreak.
Just days after recording the 4th, 5th, and 6th cases, 4 more new cases were confirmed by the Philippines department of health.
All patients were admitted to private hospitals.
The 4 patients first showed symptoms of the virus during the first week of March.
Two among the patients did not have recent travel history, while the two others have been to Japan, and South Korea and the United States, respectively.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. It may appear 2 to 14 days after getting infected by the virus.
The Philippines Department of Health has already raised the alert level to code red sublevel 1, and has recommended declaring a State of Public Health Emergency to the Office of the President.
