STARGLOW Answers Their Own Origin Story With ‘WISHES’
STARGLOW is closing the loop on where it all began. One year into their journey, the five-member group has surprised fans with “WISHES,” an answer song to “PIECES,” the track that once defined their biggest moment as hopeful finalists.
“PIECES” was performed during the final stage of BMSG’s audition THE LAST PIECE, capturing the uncertainty and hope of that single day. “WISHES” picks up that same voice one year later, now that those hopes have become reality.
The five members are no longer finalists wondering what comes next. As STARGLOW, they use the new song to look back on their first year together and put into words the memories and bonds they have built.
The Story Behind “WISHES”
What makes “WISHES” especially personal is the group’s direct hand in creating it. All five STARGLOW members took part in writing and composing the track, working alongside the same team behind “PIECES.”
That team includes Bad Milk, PALMR and SKY-HI, with PALMR handling arrangement and SKY-HI and PALMR producing. With the members shaping both the lyrics and melody, the song reflects the connections formed during their first year as a group.
Rather than dressing up those feelings in elaborate language, “WISHES” lets the members speak in their own words. The result is a track rooted in the real experiences that turned five individuals into a group.
The song carries the emotional weight of that first chapter while still looking ahead. It stands as a companion piece to “PIECES,” completing a story that has grown alongside STARGLOW itself over the past year.
Anniversary Livestream and Debut Album Reveal
The celebration extends beyond the song’s release. On September 22, the same day as “WISHES,” STARGLOW is hosting a livestream at 9:00 p.m. JST to mark their one-year pre-debut anniversary.
The livestream includes a live vocal performance and a promised “major announcement” about the group’s next steps. Fans won’t have long to wait afterward, as the lyric video for “WISHES” premieres at 9:30 p.m. JST.
Alongside the surprise single, STARGLOW has revealed the full tracklist and artwork for its debut album, “Aurora,” set for release on November 18. The 14-track project spans the group’s catalog to date.
The album runs from pre-debut track “Moonchaser” through latest single “Drivin’ My Life,” adding “WISHES” and five more new songs, including unit tracks. Together, the lineup captures everything STARGLOW has built since its pre-debut one year ago.
“Aurora” will be released across six formats, including two limited first-press editions with bonus DVD content and a standard edition. Two BMSG MUSIC SHOP-exclusive editions will also include a 52-page photobook and live footage from Summer Sonic 2026.
A separate BMSG MUSIC SHOP bundle pairs the CD with original merchandise, including a pin badge set and group trading cards. Every format comes with a random acrylic mini keychain as a purchase bonus.
