Gibson unveils Les Paul Studio Double Trouble with bold new finishes
Gibson has expanded its lineup with the release of the Les Paul Studio Double Trouble, introducing a bold new take on one of its most trusted models.
Now available in Cherry Sunburst and Dirty Lemon Burst finishes, the guitar builds on the strong reception of last year’s Les Paul Standard Double Trouble models, bringing the concept to a wider range of players. Handcrafted in Nashville, Tennessee, the instrument combines premium materials with a refreshed visual identity highlighted by exposed Burstbucker Pro pickups with Double Classic White bobbins.

Designed to deliver the signature Les Paul sound while offering modern versatility, the Studio Double Trouble aims to be a reliable go-to guitar for musicians across genres.
Classic Les Paul design meets modern performance
At its core, the Les Paul Studio Double Trouble retains the elements that have defined the model for decades. It features an Ultra Modern weight-relieved mahogany body for improved comfort, paired with a carved plain maple top that enhances clarity and attack.
The glued-in mahogany neck is built for sustain and resonance, while the SlimTaper profile ensures a fast and familiar feel. A bound rosewood fingerboard with acrylic trapezoid inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets, and a 12-inch radius supports both chord work and expressive lead playing.
Hardware components such as the Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge, aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, and Graph Tech nut provide dependable tuning stability, making the guitar suitable for both studio sessions and live performances.
Versatility and tone define Double Trouble upgrade
Equipped with a pair of Gibson Burstbucker Pro pickups, the Studio Double Trouble delivers a balanced mix of power, articulation, and dynamic response. The uncovered pickups with Double Classic White bobbins not only enhance tone but also give the guitar a distinctive stage-ready appearance.
A three-way selector switch allows players to access a range of tones, while independent volume controls with push/pull coil-tap functionality offer single-coil-style sounds when needed. Separate tone controls further expand the instrument’s sonic range, making it adaptable to different playing styles and genres.
The Les Paul Studio Double Trouble continues Gibson’s tradition of blending heritage with innovation, offering musicians a refined version of a classic design with added personality and flexibility.
As a limited-run model, the guitar is expected to attract strong demand and is now available worldwide through Gibson’s official channels and authorized dealers.
