NBA: Pelicans willing to trade Jrue Holiday

The New Orleans Pelicans are open to the idea of trading veteran guard Jrue Holiday.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania noted that several teams, including playoff contenders, are pursuing the 11-year guard and are in talks with the Pelicans.

Holiday has been part of the Pelicans line-up since 2013 when he was traded for Nerlens Noel and a draft pick. He signed a massive 5-year, 126 million extension deal in 2016.

The 30-year-old guard is averaging 17.6 PPG, 4.2 RPG, and 6.8 APG in 7 seasons with the Pelicans.

Perhaps, the Pelicans are willing to go even deeper into their rebuild. After trading Anthony Davis last season for Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, and Brandon Ingram, and drafting Zion Williamson, the team looks to move Holiday and continue with a younger core.
