NBA: Blazers’ Damian Lillard (knee) out for Game 5 vs Lakers

Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard has been ruled out for Game 5 of their Western Conference 1st round series against the Los Angeles Lakers, the team announced.

After getting MRI results, it has been confirmed Lillard suffered a knee sprain. The point guard exited Game 4, which Portland lost 135-115, early due to a knee injury.

With the Lakers up 3-1 in the NBA playoffs, it could be elimination for the Blazers without their main star.

Lillard has been phenomenal in the NBA’s return, being named bubble MVP as he willed Portland to the 8th seed.

His run in the bubble included games of 61, a career-high, and 51 points.

The 6-3 star averaged 30 PPG and 8 APG throughout the regular season.
