Abueva PBA return only a few sessions away
Suspended PBA forward Calvin Abueva revealed that he is just a few psychological sessions away from returning successfully to the league.
Abueva bared the information on a local podcast, adding that his sessions were in fact even delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Sayang nga nagka-pandemya, hindi natuloy-tuloy ‘yung sessions ko …Sa dalawang psychological sessions ko, nakatulong sa akin at nakatulong sa buhay ko. Ang dami kong na-improve sa buhay ko.”
Abueva has been suspended since the PBA Commissioner’s Cup 2019 conference following a series of on-court controversies.
That includes clotheslining then TNT import Terrence Jones and having a spat with Ray Parks Jr. and his girlfriend Maika Rivera.
The Phoenix Fuel Master forward has since undergone counseling and has also participated in PBA’s outreach programs and community service events.
Given the current situation due to the pandemic, it looks like Abueva’s return will depend on when the “new normal” will be adopted.
