SBP releases ‘Return to Basketball’ Guidelines

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) has issued its “Return to Basketball” guidelines which were taken from FIBA for the information and guidance of its national federations all over the world.

These guidelines will be used as a reference for various leagues, tournaments and game organizers in the Philippines to help them craft their Return to Basketball programs that will also depend on the circumstances surrounding them in their respective localities.

SBP President Al Panlilio also reiterated the emphasis on safety, health and well-being of the Filipino basketball community as paramount above everything else. Similar to the points stressed by FIBA, the guidelines are not intended to replace the guidance and restrictions of the government and public authorities. The strict observance of safety/ medical and health protocols remain, particularly on physical distancing that is widely encouraged to date.
