NBA: Kobe Bryant once gave Adam Morrison a signed Chelsea jersey

There is no doubt Kobe Bryant touched many lives throughout his legendary basketball career.

One of them is former Los Angeles Laker Adam Morrison, who played alongside Bryant in 2009 and 2010.

Morrison has long been considered a draft bust. He was selected 3rd overall in the 2006 NBA Draft behind only Andrea Bargnani and LaMarcus Aldridge.

But the Gonzaga alum never lived up to the hype, averaging only 11.1 PPG on 37% shooting for the Charlotte Bobcats in his rookie season.

Recently, Morrison told a heart-warming story via the Battle of L.A. podcast of how Bryant has always kept him in his thoughts. Morrison then bared that Bryant gave him a signed Chelsea jersey of his favorite player, Didier Drogba.

“He publicly defended me numerous times. When I was out of the league, I told you I was a Chelsea fan… he knew I really liked Didier Drogba. He’s one of my favorite players of all-time, and so, the year after I’m not with the Lakers, Robert Lara, the security for the Lakers, texted me and said, ‘What’s your address?’ I gave him my address. I didn’t think anything of it, and I get a package in the mail, and it’s an autographed game-worn Didier Drogba jersey, and on it, it says, ‘Best wishes, to Adam,’ and it’s signed.”

It only proves how amazing of a teammate Bryant was, and how great he is as a gentleman in general.
