Amid COVID-19, Capital One gives employees longer paid leaves, work-from-home option
The effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak can be tough especially on workers who have to continue working amidst health dangers, but companies are taking the necessary steps to put employees in a more comfortable situation.
United States bank Capital One Financial Corp. is one of them, implementing new measures to help their more than 52,000 employees.
Capital One co-founder and CEO Richard Fairbank said per an online report:
“Our people are the heart of Capital One. I know that we will seize on this unique moment to put our values on display as we support our customers, our communities, and each other. I am especially grateful to all of you who directly serve our customers every day.”
Among those measures are encouraging workers to “work remotely” i.e. from home.
The company will also give out extra paid leaves to compensate for the situation.
There are 2,951 coronavirus cases in the United States as of March 14.
