FIBA 3×3 World Tour 2020 adds Manila to list of masters hosts

The FIBA 3×3 World Tour circuit will be back in Manila this year as the governing body announced its 2020 line-up of masters events for the year.

Manila will be one of 13 cities around the world hosting a Masters event, which serves as a qualifier for the grand finale event slated for November 2020 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

It will be the 1st time the Philippines is hosting the 3×3 World Tour since 2015.

Manila West, composed of Terrence Romeo, Aldrech Ramos, Rey Guevarra, and KG Canaleta, won the Manila Masters in 2014, and qualified to the World Tour Final.

The World Tour is not a national team competition but rather the pinnacle of all FIBA 3×3-sanctioned events around the world.

It is where the best 3×3 players around the globe meet for basketball supremacy.

With 3×3 also growing in the Philippines, thanks to Chooks-to-Go’s efforts, the hosting is a great opportunity for fans to see world-class 3×3 action.

The Philippines is also competing for a slot to the 1st-ever 3×3 competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The nation hosted a 3×3 World Cup back in 2018 with Stanley Pringle, Christian Standhardinger, Troy Rosario, and Roger Pogoy representing the men’s category.
