“Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe may land his next project. The actor is reportedly being eyed to lead the cast of the upcoming Disney+ series “Moon Knight” for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

“Moon Night” is the alter ego of Marc Spector, the son of a Jewish rabbi who became a boxer and then a Marine. He was also a former CIA operative who turned into a mercenary. After being left for dead by a terrorist named Bushman, Spector becomes the cloaked avenger Moon Knight with the help of the Egyptian Moon god named Khonshu.

In a 1985 comic book released, Spector was established to be suffering from schizophrenia. It’s unclear if this will be the version the series will be adapting in its plot. Filming is expected to begin in 2020.

Before Radcliffe’s name emerged as in the running for the role, Disney was reportedly looking for a Jewish-Israeli-looking actor for the role. Fans thought that Zac Efron would be perfect for the part but it looks like the studio is leaning towards Radcliffe. The actor’s casting, however, is not yet definite.

The show is reportedly being developed by Jeremy Slater, who also helped Netflix create “The Umbrella Academy.” Not much is known about the “Moon Night” series other than these details.

Little is also known about the character, who was created in 1975 for Marvel comics. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that Moon Knight will eventually be introduced in the MCU films after the TV series debut.

Marvel Studios want “Moon Knight” to be released along with the rest of the television programs set for the MCU’s Phase 4, featuring Ms Marvel and She-Hulk. The series could also be tied to the upcoming film “Blade” with Mahershala Ali.

Meanwhile, Radcliffe also appears in the TV series “Miracle Workers.” The show will return for the second season on Jan. 28 via TBS.
