PBA: Ravena not satisfied, says NLEX is gunning for championship
NLEX Road Warriors star guard Kiefer Ravena said his squad cannot be satisfied by just being in the quarter-finals of the PBA Governors’ Cup as they have bigger goals in mind.
The Road Warriors beat the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 111-91 last Wednesday, giving them an outright quarter-finals berth and a share of the top spot in the team standings of the conference with a 7-1 record.
But Ravena insisted NLEX’s ultimate goal is to be in the finals for the 1st time in franchise history, and eventually win a title.
“We can’t be complacent knowing that we’re already in the quarterfinals. Part lang yun ng goal namin. Ang goal namin talaga is to make it to the finals and try to win a championship. So we can’t be contented with a quarterfinals berth,” said Ravena per the PBA website.
Ravena has been phenomenal since his return from suspension, doing it all for the Road Warriors with his averages of 16.5 PPG, 5.1 RPG, 9.3 APG, 1.6 SPG and 39% shooting from 3-point area.
The 6-foot-1 guard added the Road Warriors must stay in top shape to maintain being competitive and continue their goal of trying to win a title.
“Come our next game, it’s gonna be harder and harder for us because once you’re at the top, everybody’s going at you. We have to stay healthy, we can’t take it for granted pagdating lalong lalo na sa conditioning namin kasi ayaw namin na ito lang yung peak namin,” he said.
