PSC Board hears out coaches’ needs for SEAG
Team Philippines Chef de Mission and Philippine Sports Commission Chairman William Ramirez sat down with over 150 national coaches, to discuss standing concerns and updates for the upcoming 30th Southeast Asian Games yesterday at PhilSports Complex, Pasig.
The meeting was done after the successful first delegation meeting with the national sports associations, together with Philippine Olympic Committee President Ricky Vargas and Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee Chairman and Congressman-elect Alan Peter Cayetano last June 4 at the PICC.
Ramirez opened discussions with the national coaches from 58 sports to conduct assessment and evaluation of the level of preparations of Team Philippines for the SEA Games.
“If we are united, we can produce miracle in the Southeast Asian Games,” said Ramirez reiterating his call for unity in sports.
The agency chief also lauded the coaches and trainers for their support to the national athletes in their training and preparations for the Games. “The greatest job of a coach is to inspire the champion in an athlete,” the CDM said in his speech.
National coaches were also clustered into groups facilitated by Ramirez together with PSC Commissioners Arnold Agustin, Ramon Fernandez, Celia Kiram Charles Maxey and Chief of Staff Marc Velasco.
