Dela Torre ready for Chinese foe

SANMAN Boxing Gym’s Harmonito “Hammer” Dela Torre and unbeaten Chinese foe Yongqiang Yang both made the weight limit for their eight-round showdown tomorrow in Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Showing he is in solid fighting shape, Dela Torre (19w-1L-0D, 12KOs) easily hurdled the 136-pound weight limit as he tipped the scales at 134.4 pounds.

Yang (10W-0L-0D, 7KOs) also had no trouble hurdling the initial test as he came in at 134.6.

The Dela Torre-Yang duel is one of the undercards of the Manny Pacquiao-Lucas Matthysse encounter dubbed as “Fight of Champions”.

“It’s all set for Harmonito. He came in very prepared and we are hoping for the best,” said Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude Manangquil, who accompanied Dela Torre in Kuala Lumpur along with Sanman CFO Dexter Tan.
