‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Season 3: Will time travels be the same without Firestorm?
“DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” officially bade Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber) goodbye. He was one of the casualties in the crossover “Crisis on Earth-X,” a scenario which also affected the other half of Firestorm – Jefferson Jackson (Franz Drameh).
Before the special crossover, both Stein and Jax were not getting along that well. Aware that the doctor wanted to spend more time with his family, especially his grandson Ronnie, Jefferson wanted to go on and free Stein from Firestorm. Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) tried his hand, but nothing materialized.
However, it turned out that Stein had a serum to separate him and Jax. But using it meant immediate death for Stein and practically rendering Jax useless without superpowers. Jefferson did try to alter time, but a younger Victor Stein chose not to find out what the future held. Frustrated and with his head apparently out of the game, Jax bid Sarah Lance/ White Canary (Caity Lotz) and the team goodbye.
Vacancies piling up on “Legends of Tomorrow”
With Jefferson out, a new vacancy has opened up in the team. Could it be Leonard (or Leo) Snart (Wentworth Miller) from Earth-X ?
Snart joined the “Legends of Tomorrow” and it initially seemed like he was staying longer than usual. Unfortunately, that is not the case. On his Instagram account, Miller revealed that his run as Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold is coming to an end.
So technically, there will be three cast members (all of whom started out the series) saying goodbye and no longer expected to appear. Stein’s departure is well-documented while Miller made it clear on that Instagram post.
As far as Jax is concerned, Entertainment Weekly reports that Drameh has officially left the show. Hence, showrunners have permanently written off Firestorm, and it is likely that a new hero will be arriving.
When Jax left on “Legends of Tomorrow” episode 10 titled “Beebo the God of War,” a familiar DC character appeared on the Waverider. This was John Constantine (Matt Ryan), immediately hinting that more supernatural warfare lies ahead for the Legends.
How long will Constantine stick around?
Constantine and the White Canary have crossed paths before. For “Legends of Tomorrow,” it remains unclear if he will be inserted as a regular or if he will just be a guest. Whatever it is, it had to do with Sarah’s encounter in another dimension which may have some demon behind it. More trouble from Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) coming soon?
Whatever lies ahead, followers of “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will have to wait until 2018 to find out. As for the team, a dire need would be a mechanic like Jax. With the attacks plus wear-and-tear the Waverider is getting, someone needs to keep it up and running with the Legends busy trying to address all those anachronisms.
