It has taken “Once Upon a Time” until its sixth season to lay down its plans of having it’s first-ever musical episode. ABC doesn’t want to confirm that it’s happening but several sources say the special will be airing this spring.

The OUAT musical episode was first hinted back in 2015, when executive producer Eddy Kitsis shared that they would like to have it on the show. At that time, however, the writers and producers have not yet made any plans. According to TV Line, it looks like that has changed now.

But with OUAT’s big cast, it’s still unsure who will be participating in the musical episode. Back in 2011, when the show was just beginning, lead star Jennifer Morrison was not shy in saying that they would all sing on the show.

“Josh Dallas, Ginny Goodwin, me…I don’t know if Robert Carlyle sings; he probably does,” the actress said at that time. “I feel like we have a lot of musically inclined people in the cast. We’ll see!”

Because OUAT is a Disney series, the musical episode has been largely expected. It’s even more unbelievable that the show didn’t come up with the special until now.

“Once Upon a Time” will return on ABC on March 5, Sunday  at 8: 00 p.m.
