Tomorrow Studios will produce the series about a futuristic premise. Bong Joon Ho developed the film for the Asian market, which was also adapted into an American movie that starred Chris Evans.
“Snowpiercer” takes place in a moving train where the passengers are grouped based on class. With the world turned into a cold wasteland, the train is the only refuge for humans but it is riddled with politics and injustice.
“Snowpiercer has one of the most original concepts to hit the screen in the last decade, and it’s one that offers numerous opportunities for deeper exploration in a series format,” TNT executive producer Sarah Aubrey said in a press release. “We look forward to expanding TNT’s relationship with Tomorrow Studios and their take on a world where humanity is pushed to the extreme.”
This is the third project for Tomorrow Studios and TNT. They have also partnered for “Good Behavior” starring Michelle Dockery and the development of the TV version of the vampire series “Let The Right One In.”
