Brad Pitt Nearly Became Dad of Melissa Etheridge’s Kids

Country singer Melissa Etheridge revealed that Brad Pitt almost became the father of her babie. When she and her partner, Julie Cypher, were planning to have a sperm donor to star a family, they had considered asking Pitt’s help.

“He (Brad Pitt) was such a good friend of mine. And we did consider it,” Etheridge said in an interview with “Studio 10.” But ultimately, the star decided against it. “I looked and I saw how badly he wanted children and I thought, ‘I don’t want to share this with someone who really, badly wants children because my children don’t need another parent — they have two.'”

Cypher gave birth to Bailey, their first-born, in 1997 and a second child, Beckett, was born immediately after that. There have been wild speculations that the kids’ biological dad was Crosby, Stills & Nash’s David Crosby, which Etheridge somehow confirmed in the interview. “They were looking to do this as a gift,” she said.

Etheridge also revealed that she has not spoken to her friend, Brad, for years. The singer actually sang at the actor’s wedding to Jennifer Aniston at the beginning of the millennium.
