Globe starts restoration of cell sites affected by Typhoon Nona
7 Charging Stations deployed in Western Samar, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Sorsogon
Globe Telecom has started restoration of cell sites in areas affected by Typhoon Nona to help advance delivery of relief services in affected communities even as minimal service disruptions were monitored.
Some cell sites in certain areas in Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas were adversely affected by Typhoon Nona.
According to Peter Tan, Globe Senior Vice President for Operations, Network Technical Group, service disruptions were due mostly to power outages and transmission issues caused by strong winds coming from the typhoon.
“While the safety and security of our employees will always be our priority, our technical teams are ready to undertake service restoration efforts wherever this is possible,” Tan said.
He added that the company has prepositioned critical tools, spares and equipment to expedite recovery process in areas affected by the typhoon.
Meanwhile, Globe Telecom has also deployed 7 Libreng Charging stations in Western Samar, Northern Samar and Oriental Mindoro as part of the company’s relief efforts for those affected by the typhoon.
The Libreng Charging stations are located in the following areas: Burgos St., Calbayog City, Western Samar; Carayman, Calbayog City, Western Samar; Brgy Libertad, Victoria, Northern Samar; Dolores corner Kinabrahan, Allen, Northern Samar; Balite, San Jose, Northern Samar; Brgy Sta. Clara, Bobon, Northern Samar; Globe Store – JP Rizal, Camilmil, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
