Former ‘Friends’ Star David Schwimmer To Lead U.K. Sitcom ‘Morning Has Broken’
David Schwimmer, one of the stars of the 1990s hit series “FRIENDS” is returning to television. The actor has agreed to star in a new comedy series that will be airing in the United Kingdom.
According to The Telegraph, Schwimmer will lead a six-part comedy called “Morning Has Broken.” His role is that of a U.S. producer who is tasked to save a breakfast TV show, “Good Morning,” from being cancelled.
The actor will be joined by Julia Davis, who will play Gail Sinclair, the Queen of Daytime TV. Incidentally, Davis is one of the writers of the series, along with Nick Mohammed.
“I’ve been a massive fan of Julia’s for years” said Schwimmer, “and I’m thrilled to be able to finally work with her and Nick on this fantastic comedy,” Schwimmer said.
The actor hasn’t had a steady TV gig since Friends 11 years ago, but he has appeared briefly in the U.K. series “Come Fly With Me.” He’s also in the upcoming drama “American Crime Story,” which will run on FX in February.
“Morning Has Broken” is set to run on television in 2016.
