Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig’s Secret Project ‘A Deadly Adoption’ Finally Airing on Lifetime

Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig’s Lifetime TV movie project, “A Deadly Adoption” is pushing forward and is finally set to air on June 20, Saturday on the women’s cable network. Lifetime has already announced its release with a new teaser.

Will FerrellBack in April, news of the project had unexpectedly leaked to the public, prompting Ferrell to issue a statement that they will have to scrapped the idea altogether.  “We are deeply disappointed that our planned top secret project was made public,” his statement read, according to US Magazine . “Kristen and I have decided it is in the best interest for everyone to forego the project entirely, and we thank Lifetime and all the people who were ready to help us make this film.”

But it looks like things are back in full swing as Lifetime, this week, announced that the TV movie is going to be airing on the channel on June 20, Saturday at 8 p.m. The show also stars Jessica Lowndes as the pregnant woman, whose child Ferrell and Wiig intend to adopt.

Known mostly as funny actors, this project is going to offer lots of surprises for fans of Ferrell and Wiig since based on the teaser, the theme of the film presents it as a serious drama.

In the short video clip, which you can watch below, Lowndes is seen speeding her car towards Ferrell, who is bloodied and looking perplexed. The scene cuts to Wiig pointing a gun at Lowndes, then a voice over plays saying, “We could have had everything. We could have had a happy life together. You’re a selfish coward and a liar, just like the rest of them.”

The story of “A Deadly Adoption”  is said to be “inspired by true events.” It looks like there’s going to be an interesting twist to this movie.

The project is also produced by Adam McKay, with the script written by Andrew Steele. Both have worked with Ferrell in several projects before.
