Max Greenfield from ‘New Girl’ Books Appearance on ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’

Max Greenfield
“New Girl” actor Max Greenfield is temporarily checking in to “American Horror Story: Hotel.” Showrunner Ryan Murphy made this announcement on Twitter on Memorial Day.
Murphy writes: “This October, Max Greenfield (like you’ve never seen him) is checking in to the hotel….but not checking out. #AHSHotel”

Greenfield will be joining other actors already signed up to the anthology series, namely Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Chloe Sevigny, Wes Bentley and Cheyenne Jackson, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Angela Basset, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates are regulars of the anthology, having been part of the earlier stories. Previously, Lady Gaga was the first casting announcement made by Murphy back in October. This will be the very first TV show the pop star will become part of.

Back to Greenfield, this casting doesn’t mean that actor, who plays Schmidt in the Fox comedy series starring Zooey Deschanel, is leaving “New Girl” to do the drama thriller. The comedy series has already filmed in advance to accommodate the pregnancy of its lead actress, as Deschanel is due to give birth at the end of summer. The show will be set to return for a fifth season in January, which means, there is still plenty of time for actors like Greenfield to work in other projects.

“American Horror Story: Hotel,” which is the fifth series in the anthology,  will have its premiere in October. There will be 13 episodes to this installment, as per usual. The show runs on FX.
